Your questions answered
Frequently asked questions
How does it work?
When you buy, you get your size as two PDFs: one for US Letter paper and one for A4. Print the one that suits your printer, tape the pages together, trace the rise and leg you want, then follow the step-by-step instructions to sew your pants.
How will I receive it?
By email, straight after you've paid, with a link to download your PDFs. You can also download them from your order confirmation page. If you can't see the email, check your spam or junk folder.
Which size should I buy?
Go by your hip measurement. If you're in between sizes, choose the bigger size. Don't worry about your waist measurement: the elastic is cut to fit your own waist at the end. Tap Size Guide under the sizes to see the chart.
Do I need to choose a style when I buy?
No. All six styles come in the same pattern: the relaxed straight leg and the wide leg, each with a low, mid or high rise. You choose your style when you trace the pattern, and you can come back and make another style later.
Do I get every size?
No, you get the size you choose, as a US Letter PDF and an A4 PDF.
Can I print it at home?
Yes. Print it on US Letter or A4 paper at actual size (100%). Print the test page first and measure the squares to check the size is right.
Is seam allowance included?
Yes, 3/8 in on every edge except the hem. There's no hem allowance, so you can make your pants the length you want and add the hem you like.
Is it suitable for beginners?
Yes. It's a simple pull-on design with a fold-over elastic waist and no zipper, fly or buttons, and every step comes with clear instructions and diagrams.
Is there a video?
No, this is a PDF pattern with step-by-step instructions and diagrams. If you'd like help with fitting and hemming on video, our Alter It Yourself course covers it.
Is this product refundable?
No. The pattern is an instant-access PDF download, so it's non-refundable. As it's delivered straight away by email, it can't be returned once it's been delivered. This is also explained in our refund policy.
